Granada
Granada
Granada is located in the eastern part of Andalucia (Southern Spain) at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains only 75 km away from the Mediterranean Sea. Granada has a great diversity in its climate from a sunny Mediterranean summer to snow in the winter.
The history of Granada is one of the most fascinating of Spain. Granada has been settled by moors for nearly 8 centuries and was the last Moorish town to be conquered by the Christians in 1492. This interesting history is still very visible in the town where you can find famous monuments like Alhambra and Generalife (fortress and palace) or the Albaicin area with its mixture of typical Moore and Spanish architecture.
The high percentage of students in Granada makes the atmosphere in town very cheerful and with a very active nightlife everyday of the week.
Sierra Nevada
The Sierra Nevada, located at only a few minutes of Granada, is Europe's most southerly ski resort. It's the best known and best equipped of all the Spanish ski resorts with 48 pistes covering 70 kilometres. You won't find another resort where you can ski in the morning then play golf in the sunshine or relax on a Mediterranean beach in the afternoon!
